What Do You Do?
At Meals on Wheels of Lancaster, we provide nutritious, freshly prepared meals at a reasonable cost to those who cannot reasonably provide meals for themselves. But this labor of love and community extends beyond food delivery.
What's Your Mission & Vision?
The mission of Meals on Wheels of Lancaster is to alleviate food insecurity in our community by providing fresh and nutritious foods. Our vision is to ensure that our neighbors are nourished. That is merely the beginning of the relationship.
How do you do it?
Faithfully, many of our neighbors hop in their cars and gather at Meals on Wheels of Lancaster to pick up freshly prepared, quality and nutritious food for home delivery. Between volunteering in the kitchen, driving deliveries, and visiting with meal recipients there are 9 staff members and over 400 volunteers ensuring the food security of approximately 1,000 individuals every year. This labor of love and community extends beyond food delivery.
We are fortunate to live in a community that wants to give more. Visiting the homes of our clients is an honor. It is also an opportunity, and we recognize the power of a safety check. Delivering regularly, we are able to identify changes in safety and wellbeing for our clients and their families. Having on-hand staff ready to receive information from our experienced volunteers we can alert emergency contacts in case of any immediate concerns when we arrive. We are grateful for your interest, support, and participation.

How You Can Make A Difference?
At Gifts That Give Hope, we’re expanding beyond the annual Gift Fair to make meaningful giving possible all year long. Our online catalog highlights nonprofits from past fairs, making it easy to support causes you care about—for birthdays, holidays, and every special moment in between.
What is something you're excited to share?
We are thrilled to announce the addition of a brand-new temperature-controlled van to our Meals on Wheels of Lancaster fleet! This vehicle represents an exciting step forward for our organization, enabling us to expand our reach and deliver fresh, high-quality meals even more safely and effectively across Lancaster County.
