The Period Project: Help in a tangible way!

Thank you so much for your support of The Period Project Harrisburg!  You're part of our success story thus far and we could not be impacting lives without your assistance!!

We have planned our 3rd annual DAY OF IMPACT for August 5th and we are VERY EXCITED about it! This community-based day utilizes the POWER of our volunteers to create period packs...a month's worth of sanitary supplies-7 pads, 7 tampons, and 7 panty liners with educational info on Toxic Shock Syndrome included.  These packs are then distributed to shelters, schools, food banks, college campuses, clinics...wherever the Harrisburg community needs us.

How You Can Help!

To make this happen...we need HELP!  We are looking for groups in our community...businesses, boutiques, banks, clubs, networking groups, offices, medical groups, churches or other organizations..to hold a donation drive in July!  Can you be a hero for us??  If the answer is YES, please reply to this email asap!  Any items collected make a difference!

Here's how it works: Using a 1-2 week collection period, you gather the much-needed items that so many struggle to afford in a large box or bin!  Just add a prin, add a deadline date for drop-offs, and attach the sign to the bin or box!

You update us on quantity by July 25th. These can be delivered to us prior to the Day of Impact on August 4th. If needed, we will pick them up from your location.

You can also support The Period Project by shopping Gifts that Give Hope.

Questions you may have:

Why is this so important right now?

Did you know that the price of sanitary pads and tampons jumped 10% in 2022 alone?  That, coupled with the continued inability to cover these medically necessary items with SNAP, WIC, or Medicaid funds has caused an increased risk of toxic shock syndrome and sepsis.  The community needs your help!

Can you take open packages?

Unopened, new packages only, please!

What do you need the most?

Regular thin pads, with or without wings, unscented.

How do the products get to those who need them?

They are delivered to stakeholders who deliver them to those they serve at community locations like clinics, shelters, schools, and food banks. All in this community. Thank you for considering...and thank you for the support you have already given this year!! We simply could not do this without you!

PLEASE share!  We truly appreciate your support always!
