Site Blessing: Friday, Oct. 21
On the heels of our Fremont Street site blessing earlier this month, we have another glorious blessing to celebrate!
Please help us kick off the start of renovations at 1824 Chestnut Street in N. Cornwall Township, immediately outside of Lebanon City. The event will take place at 10:00AM and all are welcome to share best wishes and community spirit with future homebuyer Noemi and her family, who will join us at the blessing.
We have even more reason to celebrate with this week's Women Build event, taking place at the Chestnut Street Build and at our two active build sites in Lancaster City. An all-female crew from the Lebanon County Association of Realtors (LCAR) will be working at Chestnut Street on the day of the blessing.
Many thanks to the community partners who are helping to turn this house into a home, including PHFA, First United Methodist Church of Palmyra, LCAR, Santander, Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lebanon, Members 1st Foundation, The MetEd/Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund, and Kiwanis Club of Lebanon.
Women Build Week
Habitat's celebrated construction tradition--Women Build--kicked off today with the youngest of our community's future builders. Sponsor UGI Utilities joined us in a special reading at local head start programs of the children's book The House That She Built, illustrating the many roles that women can take in constructing a home.
Women Build construction activities kick off tomorrow with an opening event at our Lime Street Build. All are welcome to join us at 10:00AM at 723 S. Lime Street in Lancaster to take a tour of the building and meet some of the dynamic women involved in this week's event.
October is Energy Awareness Month
Habitat builds energy-efficient homes for several good reasons. Energy-efficient homes can save our homebuyers money on their utility bills. And, reducing the use of our natural resources where we can is the right thing to do. That's why throughout October we are celebrating Energy Awareness Month. Visit our YouTube channel for DIY videos on home maintenance projects for your own home, as well as our Facebook page for money-saving tips and resources you can access.
Many thanks to the MetEd/Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund and Santander for their support of our energy-efficient build efforts!
