2022 has been a great year! Millicent Akoko joined LightHouse Academy, a school sponsored and managed by Rafiki Africa, at the age of 3. She graduated from 8th grade and was a recipient of Rafiki High School Scholarship.
After 4 years of rigorous High School education, she graduated top of her class. She was admitted to college to major in Computer Science. Rafiki supported her in college with all her college needs. In December Millicent will be graduating from College. In the last 18 years she has gained multiple skills including leadership. She is the first to attend college in her family. After graduation, Millicent plans to come back to teach at LightHouse Academy. She also plans to volunteer teaching computer skills and coding to vulnerable girls who have no access to skills training. Millicent says "without the support of Rafiki, I wouldn't have been able to reach High School. My family would not have the hope they have now. I want to give back to my village and help other girls get an education. I am so thankful for Rafiki."

A Big Thank you to everyone who has helped us collect story books HOW CAN YOU HELP! Here are practical steps of how you can help us reach this goal.
1. Give a financial gift that can be used towards buying and shipping books.
2. Collect story books from your friends and neighbors then deliver to us.
3. Buy used books at garage sales, library sales, thrift stores and more, then deliver to us!
4. Invite Dorothy to speak at your church or event to share about the program.
