Christmas In July: The Giving Trail!

Lancaster Gift Box, purveyor of fine Pennsylvania-made goods and signature gift boxes, is thrilled to announce the inaugural Giving Trail. This Christmas in July-themed event is aimed at spreading joy, and helping raise food, funds, and awareness about the year-round importance of supporting community benefit organizations.

Scheduled to take place on Friday July 28, 2023, and Saturday July 29, 2023, the Giving Trail represents a collaborative effort by Lancaster Gift Box, The Common Wheel Community Center & Shop, and Decades. (Details and a schedule of events can be found below.)

Here's how the Giving Trail works: The Giving Trail starts at Lancaster Gift Box and ends at Decades. (All of the food collected will be donated to CAP- Community Action Partnership)

  1. Participants will start their journey at Lancaster Gift Box, where they will make a non-perishable food donation, receive a Giving Trail Passport, and have it stamped.
  2. Next, they will proceed to The Common Wheel Community Center & Shop to make another non-perishable food donation and get their passport stamped.
  3. Finally, participants will visit Decades to make their last non-perishable food donation, obtain the final stamp on their passport, and drop the stamped passport into the raffle box.

By completing the Giving Trail, participants will be entered for a chance to win a Gift Tower valued at $500 (filled with local, artisanal treats, gift cards & swag items from host businesses)

Gabriel Luber, co-founder of Lancaster Gift Box, expressed the importance of addressing the heightened demand for food assistance in Lancaster County, “Demand for food assistance is at an all-time high! The goal of the Giving Trail is to raise awareness about food insecurity within the community and gather food and funds for local food pantries and nonprofits.”

The Giving Trail initiative aims to support nine local nonprofits, including Power Packs Project, Lancaster Farmland Trust, Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition, The Wittel Farm Growing Project, Gifts that Give Hope, Water Street Mission, Music for Everyone, Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, Lancaster Food Hub, and CAP-Community Action Partnership.

On July 28th and 29th, giving stations will be set up at Lancaster Gift Box's retail shop. Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives from these nonprofits, make monetary donations in person, donate their first non-perishable food item, and embark on their Giving Trail experience. Alternatively, monetary donations can also be made easily online at lancastergiftbox.com/givingtrail2023.
